replies to posts in threads

http://www.vimeo.com has it - you can hit a reply button on each post in a thread, and your reply is nested right against the post, instead of lumped at the bottom of the list.

i think it makes a lot of sense and i'm thinking of implementing it here - thoughts?

I personally like the "quote" system more, It allows far more flexibility, especially if you want to respond to multiple messages in a thread with a single post.

But yes, I feel you - I thought about quote, I'm not totally convinced tho...

Take a look at Devientart. You respond to each but it doesn't submit till after you change the page so you can make multiple replies at one time. Also, this keeps tangent and arguments seperate from the rest of the topic.

you can still do that j-chot if you want, just reply to the thread note the post.
